BREEAM Pre-Demolition
and Pre-Redevelopment Audits/Surveys
If your project is working towards attaining BREEAM credits for an assessment rating of good – excellent, pre-demolition and pre-redevelopment audits are a requirement for meeting the BREEAM WST01 Construction Waste Management Standard
Circular Economy
Pre-Demolition and
Pre-Redevelopment Audits
The Greater London Authority (GLA) Circular Economy Statement requires pre-demolition or pre-redevelopment audits to be undertaken during the planning pre-application (RIBA 2-3) stage with the main focus on retaining, reusing or the recycling of key demolition products prior to demolition or redevelopment.
Whilst these requirements are part of the GLA planning requirements, these principles are widely followed throughout the UK and can be tailored to suit your circular economy requirements .
Site Waste Management Plans
The key objective of the SWMP is waste prevention. Following this, and working in accordance with the Waste Hierarchy, its aim it to reduce and manage the quantity of waste produced at all stages during the demolition and construction of a project.
Site waste management plans are an addition tool for attaining BREEAM credits, and whilst no longer a legal requirement by the SWMP regulations 2008, these help you comply in your duty of care in accordance with Section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.
Working in accordance with the SWMP Regulations 2008, Revive Audits will put together a site waste management plan enabling the principal contractor to demonstrate how waste generated during the construction project will be minimised and controlled to reduce impacts during construction.
